Trump administration raises tariffs on Chinese imports

Well now it’s getting real. The Trump administration raised tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports just after midnight. The tariffs went from 10% to 25%. China promised it will hit back. US and Chinese negotiators will resume trade talks later today in Washington.

US consumers haven’t really felt the bite of tariffs so far, but that could change with this round because these expanded tariffs could result in a 25% tax on almost everything else the US imports from China.

NAFDAC raises alarm over prevalence of drug addicts

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gun powder due to what it described as the high rate and prevalence of drug addicts across the country.The agency said it was shocking that Nigeria was leading even beyond the international coverage of drug abuse globally.The Director, Public Affairs, NAFDAC, Dr Abubakar Jimoh, said this on Saturday while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin.
