Governor of Cross Rivers State, Ben Ayade has washed his hands off the prosecution of Agba Jalingo, a journalist standing trial in a Calabar court on charges of treason and terrorism.

Professor Ben Ayade said the case is between Agba Jalingo and the federal government Nigeria.

He said Agba Jalingo was arrested for his link to Omoyele Sowore’s revolution now movement.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has applauded the indictment of Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, in a $21m fraud by the United States of America.

Sex For Marks in tertiary institutions and the Sexual Harassment Bill going through the second reading in the Senate, The education Report sought the views of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

While NANS welcomed the Bill and suggested an amendment to the section which vested the powers of prosecution on the school management, ASUU insists the nation does not need such new laws to tackle the sex scandal rocking tertiary institutions. 70 FRSC Officers To Face Prosecution Over Alleged Fraud

No fewer than 70 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been arrested for alleged extortion during patrol and in the corps facilities, the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi has said.

Oyeyemi disclosed this on Thursday during a strategic session with unit commanders at the FRSC Academy, Udi in Enugu State.

FG demands prosecution of Ekweremadu’s attackers

The Federal Government has called on German authorities to unmask the identity of and try the Aug. 17 attackers of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu  in Nuremberg, Germany.

In a statement issued on Monday by Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, the embassy also demanded that the attackers be tried in accordance with German laws.

The embassy stated that investigations would help identify the attackers with a view to bringing them to justice.
