Tambuwal Proposes ₦202.4bn Budget For 2020

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, yesterday, presented ₦202.4 billion as proposed appropriation for 2020 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Tambuwal, while presenting the bill for 2020 proposed expenditure said the amount included a capital expenditure of N122.8 billion, personnel cost of N32.7 billion and overhead cost of ₦46.8 billion.

The governor said the budget, tagged: “Budget of Sustained Socio-economic Development and Inclusiveness,” would focus on completion of projects started in 2019 and execution of new ones.

Makinde Proposes ₦208.8bn Budget

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday presented an appropriation bill of ₦208, 802,972,878 to the state House of Assembly for the 2020 fiscal year.

Capital expenditure made up 47.9 per cent of the total budget estimate, while the total recurrent expenditure for the 2020 financial year stood at N108, 660, 282,832, representing 52.1 per cent of the budget proposal.

Makinde said the importance of the 20 per cent “increase on the 2019 budget should not be lost on us.”

The federal government has proposed ₦15 billion for payment of group life insurance of its employees. The proposal was contained in the 2020 Appropriation Bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari before the National Assembly recently.

Delta State Proposes Budget Of ₦389bn For 2020

Delta State Government has proposed a total budget estimate of ₦389 billion for the 2020 fiscal year.

The proposed figure is made up of ₦217 billion capital expenditure and ₦171 billion for recurrent expenditure, indicating that the state government would spend more on capital projects than recurrent for the financial year.

The federal government has approved recommendations to review the National Broadcasting Code (NBC) and extant broadcasting laws.

2019 Budget Defence: FAAN proposes ₦101.6bn

Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN) has proposed a total budget of N101.6 billion for 2019.

The Managing Director, Mr Saleh Dunoma, made the disclosure while defending the 2019 budget proposals of the Authority before the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on Wednesday in Abuja.
