No High Profile Corrupt Individuals Will Be Shielded – Magu

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, Tuesday breezed into the Ilorin Zonal office of the commission declaring that no high profile individuals involved in corrupt allegations would be shielded from prosecution.

“All of them would be arraigned as soon as investigations are concluded.”

Magu who arrived the zonal office at about 11.20am said ” I am here to see how my men are doing and to also see areas of improvement in the bid to ensure efficiency in the system.”

Akeredolu Lied On Ondo Debt Profile – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has taken a swipe at Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on the state of finances inherited by his administration, declaring that the PDP government of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko left ₦20billion in the coffers of the state government.

Why Nigerians Should Not Worry Over Debt Profile – FG

The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that there is no cause for alarm over the country’s debt profile both domestic and external as being speculated by scaremongers.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed gave the assurance on Monday in Lagos while briefing newsmen on the major achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the outgoing year.

Tokyo Court Rules On High-Profile Journalist Rape Case

A Tokyo court will Wednesday rule on a damages lawsuit by journalist Shiori Ito, who has accused a former TV anchor with close ties to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of rape.

PDP to N’Assembly: probe Nigeria’s ₦24.3tr debt profile

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised questions over Federal Government’s “unwholesome” borrowings amounting to N24.38 trillion debts as the end of last year.

Debt Management Office (DMO) Director-General Ms. Patience Oniha said last week that the figure comprised of debts owed by the federal and states governments as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

She explained that the figure was N2.66 trillion higher than the N21.7 trillion recorded as at December 31, 2017, and represents a year-on-year growth of 12.25 per cent.

The PDP yesterday called on the National Assembly to investigate how the funds were disbursed.
