NASS Will Push For Implementation Of Protesters’ Demands – Lawan

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said the National Assembly would ensure that the five demands made to the Executive by #EndSARS protesters are implemented.

Lawan gave the assurance during plenary after the upper chamber was briefed by the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi (APC – Kebbi North) on the intervention by the leadership to wade into the matter.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has asked the Executive arm of Government to work on the estimates for the 2021 budget to ensure its timely presentation to the National Assembly by the end of September this year.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said foreigners and anyone involved in the illegal mining of solid minerals in the country are engaged in criminal enterprise that undermines the sovereignty of the Nigerian State.

₦40bn: Lawan Inaugurates Senate Committee To Probe NDDC

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan said on Tuesday that the investigation being carried out by the Senate into the finances of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) is to complement the ongoing forensic audit which was ordered by the Federal government.

Lawan stated this while inaugurating a seven-man ad-hoc committee on alleged financial recklessness in the NDDC.

“We are in total support of the President’s directive for the forensic audit of the finances of the NDDC, and this is, in some way, complementary to that directive,” he said.

N’Assembly Begins Consultation With Executive Over PIB

President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, wednesday disclosed that the National Assembly has commenced consultation with the executive arm of government on a new version of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) to be introduced in the ninth National Assembly.

Lawan disclosed this during a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) who paid a visit to his office at the National Assembly in Abuja.
