Aisha Reveals Why Buhari Can’t Sack CBN Gov, Emefiele

Controversial Nigerian socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu, has opined that President Muhammadu Buhari actually lacks the full constitutional power to sack the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

She made this statement to contradict rumours making the rounds on social media indicate that the governor who had indicated an interest in contesting for president under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been sacked.

Reacting to the rumoured reports, the Activist said the president may need to go through legislative processes before sacking the apex bank governor.

OPC Charges Buhari To Apologise To Shagari, Awolowo

As strategic alliances and counter-alliances take place for the race for 2023, the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) has beckoned on  President Muhammadu Buhari to openly tender a posthumous apology to the late former President Shehu Shagari, late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and all Second Republic political actors who were charged and jailed for corruption after the December 1983 coup.

In a statement on Monday, OPC President, Otunba Wasiu Afolabi, said that the exorbitant fees currently imposed on political aspirants’ nomination forms rubbished the corruption claims that Buhari had made in 1983 when he overthrew Shagari.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed grief as several people are feared dead after a boat sank in Mai’aduwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
