Eld-Fitri: Pray In Your Homes – Sultan Tells Muslims

Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Muslims across the country to pray in their respective homes during the forthcoming Eld-Fitri festival, if that is what the situation requires.

Abubakar in a statement signed by Professor Salisu Shehu, Deputy Secretary-General, NSCIA, gave this advice in view of the current coronavirus pandemic.

The Eld-Fitri festival which signifies the end of the one-month of Ramadan fast is billed to take place on Saturday if the Ramadan fast is 29 or Sunday if the Ramadan fast will be 30.

El-Rufai Wants To Be Vice President – Arewa Youths

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, President-General, Yerima Shettima on Tuesday insisted that Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State was working towards becoming the Vice President in 2023.

Shettima, who spoke with reporters, made the remark while condemning the governor for saying the Southern part of Nigeria should be allowed to produce the country’s next president.

El-Rufai had said the North had no justification to hold onto power at the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure in 2023.
