Umahi Presents ₦178bn Budget For 2020

David Umahi of Ebonyi on Friday, presented a budget of ₦178.1 billion for 2020 to the state House of Assembly. The budget was lower than the 2019 figure of ₦188.4billion.

Umahi while presenting the budget, tagged ‘budget of growth, consolidation, and transformation, expressed appreciation to the House and other critical stakeholders who ensured the effective implementation of the 2019 budget.

The governor said that the budget has a recurrent expenditure of N46.08 billion representing 25.8 per cent and capital expenditure of N132 billion representing 74.1 percent.

Former Governor Ikedi Ohakim has presented the new Ahiajoku lecture series logo to Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State for its unveiling as a prelude to the 40th anniversary of the lecture series.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Owerri. Governor Ihedioha said the logo symbolises the enduring significance of the Ahiajoku festival and its pride of place in Igbo culture.

Kogi: Collation Officer Presents ₦50,000 Bribe

A collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi state on Sunday presented a N50,000 bribe politicians offered to a presiding officer in Igalamela-Odolu local government area of the state during Saturday’s election.

There was widespread financial inducement by politicians during the election.

The collation officer presented the money at the INEC headquarters in the state while submitting the result of the local government he coordinated.

Gov. Obaseki Presents ₦177bn Budget For 2020

Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo on Wednesday presented a budget of ₦177 billion for 2020 to the state House of Assembly for approval.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the budget is 3.34 per cent higher than the 2019 figure of N175 billion.
The budget has N85 billion recurrent expenditure and ₦92 billion capital expenditure.
Obaseki said the budget was to consolidate and complete all ongoing projects in the state.
“The projected revenue for 2020 is estimated at ₦145 billion consisting of N68 billion statutory allocation, N14.5billion VAT, N40.3 billion Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), 15.3billion grants.

Sanwo-Olu Presents ₦1.168trn 2020 Budget

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday presented a budget of ₦1.168 trillion to the Lagos State House of Assembly for approval for the 2020 fiscal year. The budget is higher than the 2019 appropriation bill by 34 per cent.

According to the Governor, Capital Expenditure amounts to ₦723.75 billion while Recurrent Expenditure is ₦444.81 billion, giving a capital to recurrent ratio 62:38 percent.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the proposed budget will be funded by a projected revenue inlay of ₦1.071 trillion and a deficit amounting to N97.53 billion.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, wednesday presented the 2020 Appropriation Bill of N389,190,799,362 approximately N389.19 billion to the state House of Assembly.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented register of voters to 23 political parties ahead of the Nov. 16, Kogi governorship poll.

Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Nasarawa States, presented the register to the parties at a brief ceremony in Lokoja on Monday.
