The prepaid processing and procedure of Ikeja Electric Plc is not only disturbing and counter-productive, but promotes corruption as well as impedes Federal Government’s intention or goal on the country’s electricity billing system.

My frustration began five months ago, when I submitted three forms for processing at Ikeja Electric Plc’s office on Irawo bus-stop, Owode, Onirin, Lagos on August 15, 2019, hoping that the process was over and the prepaid meter will be supplied and installed anytime soon after the submission. But, alas, I was wrong.

Don’t Pay Cash For Prepaid Metres, BEDC Tells Customers

The management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has warned its customers against making cash payments during the ongoing Metre Asset Provider (MAP) scheme.

The Executive Director, Commercial, Mr. Abu Ejoor, speaking at the launch of the Ondo State MAP scheme in Akure, said none of the customers across the four states of coverage of the electricity company should pay cash to anybody.

“Once a customer’s premises is cleared, such customer would be advised on how to pay for the meter, whether single-phase or three-phase, the price of which is ₦38,350 and ₦70,350 respectively,” he said.
