The Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed on Wednesday evening paid a visit to his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, at his private residence in Port Harcourt to reportedly discuss ‘2023 matters’.

Some of the detectives from the Department of Security Service, DSS, Port Harcourt branch have detained a guard attached to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State for selling some of their sensitive materials.

INEC had also made confirmations that the guard arrested is attached to its Eligbolo Registration Centre in Obio/Akpor area office on allegation of extortion of money from members of the public.

Filling Stations Stop Operations In Port Harcourt

Most filling stations in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital have shut down operations following the disagreement between tanker drivers and security agencies in the state.

Our correspondent who monitored the industrial action by the filing station operators reports that queues have continued to build up in most filling stations in the state capital.

Speaking on the action, the National Treasurer of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Employees, NUPENG, Alex Agwanwa explained that the action was due to the inability of security agents to respect the understanding they reached with them last weekend.
