Monday Ubani who is the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law has threatened to drag the Federal Government of Nigeria if it goes ahead with its proposed ban on cowhide, popularly called pọnmọ.

Ubani made this known in a statement signed by him on Wednesday, stressing that pọnmọ ‘is the most common delicacy that is mostly enjoyed by average Nigerian citizens due to its affordability, and given that fish, meat, and other sources of protein had become very expensive and thus unaffordable by the common man in the country.’
