A proposal by the South African government to legalise and institutionalise polyandry has led to growing degrees of protest from conservative quarters.

Polyandry is a situation when a woman has more than one husband at the same time.

Professor Collis Machoko, who happens to be a renowned academic on the topic is however not surprised by such plans according to him, the objections are ‘about control’.
