It has been reported that there was a bit of turmoil in Lagos when over 200 irate youths on Wednesday had made an attempt to lynch two policemen in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.

Armed Men Attack, Matchet Policemen On Duty

Suspected armed men have attacked, matcheted and injured some Policemen and carted away their arms in Asaba, the Capital of Delta State, Nigeria.

The Policemen were said to be on “Routine stop and search duty” when the incident occurred on Friday, January 10, THISDAY can report.

The armed men who had laid an ambush in the area inflicted serious injuries on the Policemen before carting away their rifles.

Armed Policemen from Orerokpe Divisional Headquarters have been caught on video camera allegedly extorting money from a Commercial tricycle operator and other motorists at Oha Junction along the Eku/Abraka road in Delta State.

Two Policemen were in the wee hours of Tuesday killed by gunmen at Otuogidi community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

An Ikeja Chief Magistrates Court on Monday sentenced a 30-year-old unemployed man, Sulaimon Agboola, to six months in Kirikiri Correctional Facility, Apapa, Lagos, for stoning police officers on duty.
Chief Magistrate M.O. Tanimola sentenced Agboola after he pleaded guilty to five counts of conspiracy, unlawful society, assault, breach of the peace and possession of hemp.

Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has trained officers of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) as Supernumerary (SPY) Police to enhance its fight against unclassified, pirated films and video works.
