Hundreds Of Houses Belonging To Policemen To Be Demolished In Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has concluded plans to begin demolition of hundreds buildings belonging to police personnel in the state.

The police authority in the state referred to the buildings as illegal structures erected on police lands.

The notice of demolition dated June 3 and addressed to all officers of buildings at Nimi Okoro police station in Port Harcourt and signed by the police provost Marshall for the state Commissioner of Police.

Police Parades Suspected Kidnappers Of Islamic Cleric’s Twins

Oyo State Police Command on Monday paraded no fewer than seven (7) suspected kidnappers who kidnapped twins of an Ibadan-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Taofeek Akewugbagold.

The twins; a male and female were abducted at the residence of the Islamic cleric.

But, the police on Monday said it has arrested seven persons who kidnapped the twins.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu who paraded the suspected kidnappers said that RILDWAN TAIWO, RAFIU MUTIU, OLUMIDE AJALA, FATAI AKANJI, RAFIU MODINAT, BASHIRU MOHAMMED and OPEYEMI OYELEYE were arrested in connection with the kidnap.

A 50-year-old man has been arrested by Lagos state police command for alleged defilement of his 19-year-old daughter since she was 11.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, said the suspect was arrested after his 45-year-old wife reported the matter at the Ikotun police station.

A herbalist, Lajuwon Ogunleye, and his wife Adetutu Apalaya have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command on charges of conspiring and killing their 7-year-old son, Pelumi Apalaya.

The couple were arrested alongside one Fatai Sefiu, following their neighbours’ suspicion of the little boy being used for ritual, as he reportedly slumped and died without being sick.

Anambra Police Begins Recruitment For Community Policing

Anambra State Police Command has begun recruiting Special Constables for the community policing project earlier approved by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.

In a press release signed by the Anambra State Police Public Relation’s Officers, SP Haruna Mohammed, the command said the community policing exercise which started on the 9th of March, will last for two weeks from the date of commencement.

It invited interested candidates to report at the nearest Police Divisional Headquarters in their areas of jurisdiction within the state to undergo the required process.

The Ekiti State Police Command has raised the alarm over fear that large number of commercial motorcyclists popularly called Okada riders whose activities were restricted in Lagos State have stormed the state.
