The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has provided reasons he joined forces with Governor Godwin Obaseki to wrestle former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

According to him, Oshiomhole and his followers fell by the road because the former Governor did not actually believe in the agenda of the current administration in the State.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Thursday stormed the State House of Assembly, with hundreds of supporters.

Also with Obaseki was his deputy, Philip Shaibu, and other top government officials.

The supporters who sang solidarity songs, were also armed with placards bearing inscriptions such as “Edo is not Lagos, 4+4” and others.

Philip Shaibu, the Edo State Deputy Governor, on Thursday revealed why Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, insisted on Direct Primary Election in picking the party’s governorship candidate.

Shaibu alleged that Oshiomhole insisted on a direct primary in Edo State because he has already written the result.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Benjamin Atu, the Deputy governor claimed that the APC National Chairman was trying to usurp the powers of the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
