Comrade Festus Osifo who is the President of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has on Wednesday revealed that some of the heads of the Nigerian Military, Police and other security agencies had also colluded to pilfer and embezzle crude oil in the Niger Delta.

He had also made this revelation while making his address at a one-day public hearing of the Senate Ad-hoc Committee to investigate oil lifting, theft and the impact on petroleum production and oil revenues headed by Senator Albert Bassey Akpan.

A fresh round of fuel scarcity is looming in Nigeria as members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) yesterday threatened to pull out its entire workforce from oil and gas installations nationwide if the increasing oil theft and vandalism are not holistically.

The President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Mr Festus Osifo, has finally opened up about the reasons for the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country, particularly in Lagos and Abuja as petitions for their probe gets to an all time high.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, the PENGASSAN boss had highlighted the issue of ‘bridging funds’ between the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and truck drivers who deliver the Premium Motor Spirits (PMS).

PENGASSAN Impends Strike Over Fuel Scarcity

Showdown amid the Federal Government and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) over the implementation of the controversial Independent Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) may lead to a fresh round of petroleum products scarcity with the Union ordering its members nationwide to shutdown.
