Ekiti Elections: Why We Failed To Hold Mega Rally – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State revealed on Friday that it has decided to postpone its mega rally for Saturday’s governorship election to avoid clashes with rival political parties.

Mega rallies, according to the party, are nothing more than a circus that never results in votes.

Mr. Raphael Adeyanju, the Party’s Publicity Secretary, told reporters that the postponement was due to two political parties holding major rallies on the same day.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no chance of defeating its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections. 

Africa Daily News, New York had earlier reported that Tinubu had clinched the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in a primary election which was held at Eagles Sqaure in Abuja on Tuesday night.

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the opposition party, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP said Tinubu had clinched the ticket ‘at a very great price.’
