Ize-Iyamu: I Will Not Withdraw Pre-Election Suits

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo September 19 governorship election said he will continue with the suit challenging the suitability of Governor Godwin Obaseki to participate in the election.

He, however, said he will not challenge the outcome of the election at the tribunal.

Obaseki defeated the APC candidate in the election to secure a second term as the governor of Edo State in the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on 20 September in Benin city, the capital of Edo State.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has said he and his party are at liberty to pursue any legal option they deem fit as long as the peace of the state is not threatened.

In an Independence Day message signed by Ize-Iyamu, he said his party was collating facts and would soon speak authoritatively in the best tradition of rule of law, fairness to all and due process.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has floored his main opponent, Pastor Osagie Ize- Iyamu of All Progressives Congress, APC in his Oredo Local Government Area as an announcement of results of Edo governorship election held on Saturday continues at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s office in Benin.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, risks being arrested on July 14.

Ize-Iyamu may be arrested if he fails to appear before a Federal High Court in Benin City, Edo State for allegedly laundering the sum of ₦700m.
