Amotekun Boss Finally Reacts To Ban On Election Participation

The Chairman of the Amotekun Corps, Osun State Chapter, Brig. General Bashir Biodun Adewinmbi (Rtd) has made an open appeal to the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari-led’s government to allow the Amotekun Corps and other arms of the security outfit to play their traditional roles during the general elections come 2023.

The Commander of the Osun State Amotekun Corps had made this open appeal while speaking to Newsmen on the ruling of the court which had barred the corps from participating in the Osun governorship election.

As political matters are put in place for the Osun State gubernatorial election process, the Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has made some fresh revelations that it has uncovered some malevolent plans by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to massively engage in vote buying and election racketeering.

This revelation was contained in a statement which had been made by Stephen Owolabi, who is the media aide to Akin Ogunbiyi, Osun Accord Party gubernatorial candidate on Sunday in Osogbo.

Osun State INEC To Extend Date Of PVC Collection Deadline

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State chapter has finally announced an extension of its deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for prospective voters.

The Electoral Commission had also reiterated and assured that it would make the registration and collection of PVCs available to every ward across the 31 local government areas in the state from Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

Youth Council Condemns Ongoing Looting, Vandalisation

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State chapter has condemned the ongoing looting and vandalisation of government and private property in the state and other parts of the country by hoodlums.

The youth council in Osun State in collaboration with the stakeholders of End SARS protesters distanced themselves from miscreants who during the 24-hour curfew imposed by the state government blocked roads and collected money from citizens, saying that the, ‘unscrupulous elements’ were perpetrating different agenda of their own.
