The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd . ), has ordered the deployment of fighter jets against kidnappers, bandits and cattle rustlers said to be terrorising communities in Niger State.
The communities are situated around the Dogon Gona forest, which serves as a hideout for the attackers.

The forest stretches from Niger through Kaduna to Zamfara states , according to a State House statement by Buhari ’ s spokesman, Mr Garba Shehu, on Sunday.

Reps Panel Orders NERC, Discos To Suspend Tariff Hike

The House of Representatives, through its committee on Power has directed the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to suspend its planned electricity increment.

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has approved the payment of the ₦30,000 new National Minimum Wage to workers in the state with effect from January 2020.

Lagos Orders Release Of 11 Children From Prison Custody

Lagos State commissioner for justice and attorney-general, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, has ordered the release of 11 children held in prison custody in the state.
Onigbanjo in a statement by the ministry’s spokesman Kayode Oyekanmi said the children’s imprisonment was contrary to the provision of Section 207 of the Lagos State Child Rights Law of 2015.

Supreme Court Orders NNPC To Pay ₦8.14bn In Damages To Firm

The Supreme Court,yesterday, upheld its earlier judgment, ordering the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to pay $22.6 million (8.1billion) in damages to BCE Consulting Engineers over a failed Consultancy Service Contract.

The NNPC through its counsel, approached the Supreme Court seeking a review of the July 5, 2019 judgment over an alleged error of facts.
