Ondo 2020: I Won’t Reply Akeredolu Now – Mimiko

A former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko has said he will not respond to the various allegations levelled against him by the incumbent, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu until the governorship campaigns begin.

Mimiko said this on Sunday in Ondo town when he hosted the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, at his residence.

Ajayi had defected to the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the hope of clinching the party’s gubernatorial ticket for the Oct. 10 election.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been named the chairman of the 104-member All Progressives Congress( APC) National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship Election

Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of the Caretaker National Convention Planning Committee of the party announced members of the council today.

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong will serve as deputy chairman, while Comrade Mustapha Salihu will serve as Secretary.

The campaign council will be inaugurated on Saturday 15 August, 2020 at the APC National Secretariat by 2pm.

Indications emerged, yesterday, that the embattled deputy governor of Ondo State, Mr Agboola Ajayi, may dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) following his inability to emerge the governorship candidate of the PDP.

Ajayi was said to have met with the former governor of the state and national leader of the ZLP, Dr Olusegun Mimiko. Ondo Resident Doctors Commence Indefinite Strike Amid COVID-19

Resident doctors of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, UNIMEDTH, Ondo State on Tuesday commenced an indefinite strike.

The industrial action is coming amid the rising cases of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

According to the doctors, during a press conference held in Akure, the state capital, the action became imperative following the non-payment of their salaries ranging from three to six months by the state government.

Recall that on May 8, 2020, the doctors had protested the non-payment of their salaries with a threat to embark on strike.
