Gunmen Kill FUTA Deputy Registrar, Shoot Driver

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, over the weekend killed a Deputy Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, Dr Amos Arijesuyo.

The Deputy Registrar who was returning to Akure from Ibadan, Oyo State capital to Akure, the Ondo State capital was attacked by bandits operating on the Ilesa-Akure highway.

The Nigeria National Industrial Court, sitting in Akure, Ondo State has reinstated 32 out of over 900 workers sacked by the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) in December last year.

According to report, the institution’s management had on December 5, 2019 erroneously sacked over 900 of its workforce for alleged certificate forgery, irregular appointment, and overage among other sundry allegations that contravened its conditions of service.

#OndoDecides2020: Yiaga Africa Trains, Deploys 646 Observers

Yiaga Africa on Sunday said it has trained and would deploy a total of 646 observers for the 10 October gubernatorial election in Ondo state.

The Executive Director of the citizen-led movement, Samson Itodo, in a statement, disclosed that the training was held in 47 centres spread across all 18 LGAs in the state.

Beneficiaries of the training included 600 polling unit observers, 27 local government area observers and 18 collation center observers.

The Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun Corps has arrested three suspected kidnappers operating in the state.

It was gathered that the three members of the kidnap syndicate were nabbed by Amotekun operatives following the abduction of a businessman, Mr Kunle Agbayewa at a popular sawmill in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of the state.
