Panic As Unknown Gunmen Abduct 32 Travellers In Ondo

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday abducted no fewer than 32 travellers around Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The victims were reportedly returning from a burial ceremony in Edo State yesterday when the incident happened.

There was mild pandemonium yesterday in Igoba community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State following the killing of a security guard whose name was given as ‘Mr Sunday’ by gunmen.

It was a sad spectacle as thirteen days after the terror attack by gunmen on worshippers at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, the pre-announced funeral mass for the deceased victims has commenced today.

In the gory attack that threw the state into pandemonium, no fewer than 40 persons were gruesomely murdered on June 5 when daredevil gunmen rained bullets on the worshippers during service.

The funeral mass for the unfortunate victims began at 10:00 am after the caskets bearing the bodies of the deceased were brought in.

Police Deny Arrest Of Perpetrators Of Owo Church Massacre

In response to the nabbing and detainment of some of the suspects linked to the Owo Church massacre, the State Police in Ondo State have debunked the widespread rumours making rounds that the suspected terrorists, who attacked Owo Catholic Church, have actually been apprehended.

Rumours filtered into town on Thursday evening that the perpetrators of the terror attack were nabbed by the combined team of the Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps and other security agents.
