2023: Okowa Offers Campaign Tips To Would-Be Successor

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has advised political gladiators who wish to succeed him, to adopt a friendly disposition while politicking, saying that power belongs to God and He alone determines who would be governor in the next four years.

Okowa specifically called on Urhobo people to be united and fellowship with other ethnic groups in the state, to enable them achieve the aspiration of producing his successor in 2023.

Appeal Court Verdict: Okowa Lauds Judiciary, Thanks Deltans

Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended the Judiciary for the “sound judgment” by the Court of Appeal, which affirmed his victory in the March 9, 2019 Governorship election in the state.

His main opponent in the polls, Chief Great Ogboru of All Progressives Congress (APC), had approached the appellate court to upturn the decision of the Election Petitions Tribunal which dismissed his petition against Okowa’s victory.

The court on Friday in Abuja, endorsed the verdict of the tribunal and dismissed the appeal in its entirety for lacking merit.

Okowa Presents ₦389.19bn As Delta 2020 Budget

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, wednesday presented the 2020 Appropriation Bill of N389,190,799,362 approximately N389.19 billion to the state House of Assembly.

Okowa noted that he was presenting the 2020 Budget Estimates, christened Budget of Sustained Development ‘’from a position of cautious optimism’’ due to certain prevailing circumstances in the country.

The budget estimate comprised Recurrent Expenditure of N171,549,384,315 and Capital Expenditure of ₦217,641,415,047.

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has inaugurated Advisory and Peace-Building Council for the state, charging the members to guide his administration adequately for effective governance.

Okowa Appoints Daughter As Aide, Says He Has No Regrets

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, says he owes no one apologies for appointing one of his daughters as a political aide. Okowa said this on Tuesday at a media quarterly briefing in Asaba, Delta State capital.

The governor said his daughter was eminently qualified for the position.   “It is not true that I have two of my daughters appointed. I have only one appointed and she is rightfully qualified,” he said.

“I do not have any daughter on social media. The one appointed for girl child education is rightfully qualified.

Governor Okowa rewards Super Eagles with $60,000

Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State has again bountifully rewarded the Super Eagles following victories in their 2019 AFCON qualifying match against Seychelles and the prestigious friendly against seven-time African champions Egypt, as he presented a gift of $10,000 to Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr and another $50,000 to the team on Tuesday.

Okowa similarly rewarded the team following their qualification for the 2019 AFCON with the 1-1 draw against South Africa in Johannesburg in November 2018, which they followed up with a friendly against Uganda in Asaba three days later.
