Okada Ban Has Lessened Insecurity, Deaths In Lagos β€”Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has asserted that the number of accidents and security issues has drastically reduced since the ban on commercial motorcycles popularly known as okada which was enforced in the state.

Speaking on a Channels Television programme: Sunday Politics, on Sunday which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York, the governor claimed that there have been tremendous improvements in the areas that okada have been banned.

As the Lagos State Government toughens its stance on the Okada ban, the Government on Friday crushed 2,228 motorcycles, popularly called Okada which were seized in areas where their operations have been proscribed

The State Government had begun enforcement of the total ban on the activities of okada in six Local Government Areas and nine Local Council Development Areas within those LGs on Wednesday this week.
