2023: Afenifere Leader, Adebanjo Backs Igbo Presidency

Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a leader of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Thursday reiterated his call for a Nigerian President of Southeast extraction.

Adebanjo said it is the turn of the Southeast to produce Nigeria’s President because other regions have ruled the country.

He spoke while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today in a program which was monitored by Africa Daily New, New York.

The Afenifere leader argued that former President Olusegun Obasanjo who led for eight years and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo hail from the Southwest.

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has said that the latest attack on former Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu was an ominous sign that some fire of revolution might have begun to burn across the land.
