Federal Court Nullifies All Ogun State PDP Primary Elections

Tragedy has struck for  the Ogun State PDP Chapter as a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, which is the Ogun state capital has on Tuesday nullified all the primary elections which had been conducted by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in choosing some of their candidates for the 2023 general elections in the State.

The presiding judge who had given the sentence, Justice O. O Oguntoyinbo  had in his judgement ordered the party to conduct another primaries within the next 14 days.

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed why he rode a tricycle around the Kuto area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Obasanjo pointed out that he did that because he wanted to encourage youths to venture into tricycle and small-scale businesses as a means of earning an honest living.

Ogun: Truck Crushes Three To Death On Papa-Ilaro Road

Three persons have reportedly died in a fatal accident along Papa-Ilaro road in Ogun on Wednesday, July 1.

Two other passengers in the road crash were said to have sustained injuries, while two others were rescued unhurt.

DAILY POST learnt that the incident occurred around 8:25am at Ajegunle, inward Ilaro.

Two vehicles, a Man-diesel truck and a Toyota Corolla were involved in the crash.

Covid-19: Ogun Shuts Down Schools, Bans Public Worships

Due to the global spread of the Coronavirus and the recent ban on all high-density gatherings in Ogun, the State Government has ordered the closure of schools from Friday, March 20.

The Chief Press Secretary to Gov Abiodun, Kunle Somorin, clarified that the ban on high-density gatherings affects all schools, whether public or private, as well as all religious activities in the State.

Consequently, the Ogun state government said, “all schools in the State will remain closed indefinitely after school hours on Friday, March, 20th, 2020.”

Ogun: Abiodun, Akinlade React To Death Of Adeosun

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in the state during the last election, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, have mourned Hon. Saibu Adeosun.

The duo of Abiodun and Akinlade, in separate statements, described Adeosun’s death as a great loss to his family, friends and political associates as well as the All Progressives Congress in Ipokia Local Government and Ogun State in general.

Ogun: NUJ Halts Inauguration Of Factional Exco

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Saturday, stopped the planned inauguration of a factional executive of the union in Ogun State.

The NUJ said it stopped the event based on the order of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria sitting in Ibadan, which restrained it from conducting fresh election in the Ogun State Council of the union.

The Vice President B Zone, Cosmos Oni, who had led other officers to Abeokuta to conduct the proposed election, confirmed the directive of the NUJ national leadership.
