‘Resignation Is Not Enough’ – HURIWA Calls For Ex-CJN’s Arrest

In lieu of his recent resignation from office, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been told to arrest and detain the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad immediately.

This was after Muhammad had tendered in his resignation as the CJN on Monday, whike citing some health issues.

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, had also revealed that the resignation of Muhammad was not actually enough to clear him of corruption allegations which had been levelled against him by the 14 justices of the Supreme Court.

Mrs Uche Chukwurah, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo State, has told Nigerians to follow personnel who demand bribe to the office.

She warned officers and men of the corps to refrain from taking bribes from motorists or risk being sacked.

The Management of Pinnacle Communications Ltd, a licensed Digital Switch-Over operator in Nigeria, has lamented the alleged illegal invasion of its Abuja office by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.

There was low turn out of workers on Friday at the state secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun capital, after the Christmas celebration.

A NAN correspondent, who monitored resumption in some of the government establishments and offices, revealed that only few workers reported at work after the two-day public holiday declared by the Federal Government to celebrate Christmas and Boxing Day.

Reps Approve ₦9.4bn To Complete Customs Head Office Complex

The House of Representatives on Friday approved the budget of the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) with the approval of N9.4billion to the commission to complete the Customs Head Office Complex.

The House Committee on Supply approved a total budget of N283.1billion of the Customs for the year 2020.

The approval is coming in the wake of the controversial N37billion approved for the renovation of the National Assembly in the 2020 budget.
