The World Health Organisation, WHO have declared that ‘epidemic’ overweight and obesity rates are linked to at least 1.2 million deaths annually across Europe, calling for swift policy changes to reverse the dangerous trend which could take more lives this year.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that obesity rates in the region have over the past five decades ballooned by 138% according to the World Health Organization in a new report. The health body’s report also linked it to a series of cancers and cardiovascular diseases.
