Obasanjo, Osinbajo, Tinubu Meet In Lagos

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, met in Lagos on Saturday.

They graced the 80th birthday celebration of Chief Rasaq Okoya, founder of Eleganza group of companies.

Other in attendance were Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku; Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote as well as traditional rulers.

Born in Lagos on Jan. 12, 1940, Okoya is a billionaire industrialist and the Aare of Lagos.

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, met Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun behind closed doors.

NAN reports that Obasanjo stormed the Governor’s office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and went straight into the meeting, which lasted for about an hour.

In an interview with newsmen after the meeting, Obasanjo said he had visited the governor to discuss varied issues regarding development of the state with him.

Some of the issues, according to him, involved education, agriculture and rural development.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticised former Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode for abandoning the Lagos light rail project while he was the governor of the state between 2015 and 2019.

President Olusegun Obasanjo on Friday in Lagos expressed deep concern about Nigeria’s current debt profile and warned the Federal Government against “impending bankruptcy.”

Obasanjo was a keynote speaker at the “Why I am Alive” campaign celebration in Lagos on Friday.

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, yesterday said ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was one of the architects of the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, which was won by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.
