NYSC Only Surviving FG Initiative Still Uniting Nigeria — Emir

According to the Emir of katsina, Alhaji Dr. Abdulmumimi Usman Kabir has observed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is presently the only surviving Federal Government Project among so many that were established between 1970 to 1990.

Emir Kabir made the observation on Wednesday, 20th July, 2022 when the State Coordinator NYSC katsina state Hajiya Muhammad Aisha paid a courtesy call on the Emir in his palace.

The Katsina monarch called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to continue to support the NYSC Scheme, noting that it is the only project that brings in national unity and integration.

The body of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has on Sunday fully condemned an alleged act of electoral misconduct which has seen the arrest and detainment of a corps member, Orji Nkenna, and some other staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State.

1,438 Jigawa Corps Members Trained By NYSC On Fresh Skills

1,438 corps members have been reportedly trained by the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), in Jigawa. The scheme had announced that the training session would be encompassing various income-generating skills in Jigawa State, under its Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.

Mr Umar Muhammad who is the SAED’s Deputy Director in the state had made this announcement at the closing ceremony of the training on Saturday in Dutse.

Only Skilled ‘Corpers’ Will Benefit From NYSC Trust Fund – DG

The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah has declared that the NYSC Trust Fund, which was passed into law by the National Assembly earlier in the week, would be of immense benefit to only skilled corps members.

Fadah revealed that the NYSC Trust Fund Establishment Bill was passed into law by the National Assembly on Tuesday and is now awaiting the presidential assent.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that former Minister of Finance Mrs. Kemi Adeosun was ineligible for national service as at when she got back to the country.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has been issued a new certificate by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Economic Sustainability Committee (ESC) led by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp for two years.

The recommendation was made by the committee due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
