Ukraine’s Nuclear Operator Reports Cyberattack On Its Website

Ukraine’s nuclear operator Energoatom has raised alarm over what it called an ‘unprecedented’ cyberattack on its website however insisting that its operations had not been tampered with.

‘On August 16, 2022, the most powerful cyberattack since the start of the Russian invasion occurred against Energoatom’s website,’ the operator said in Telegram message that was obtained by Africa Daily News, New York.

It ‘was attacked from Russian territory’.

The Russian ‘popular cyberarmy’ group used more than 7 million internet bots to attack the website for three hours, Energoatom said.

Iran Set To Resume Nuclear Talks In Vienna

Parties involved in the Iran nuclear agreement are to resume Saturday the third round of negotiations in Vienna aimed at bringing the United States back into the accord.

The deal, which curbs Iran’s nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief, has been on life support since then US President Donald Trump bolted in 2018.

The remaining partners to the 2015 accord have been engaged in negotiations since early April to try to revive it.

The third round of talks started on Tuesday and, after several days of technical discussions between expert groups and delegations, will resume on Saturday.
