Kogi: Bello Names SSG, 17 Commissioner-Nominees (Full List)

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, on Monday listed 17 Commissioner nominees.

He announced the retention of the incumbent Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade-Arike.

Bello made the announcement in his inaugural speech after taking Oath of Office and Allegiance in Lokoja.

The Governor appealed to members of the State Assembly to screen the nominees in earnest to enable the full take-off of government activities.\

Governor Abiodun Under Fire Over Commissioner-Nominees

A coalition of over 50 women groups has issued a three days ultimatum to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to nominate more women in his cabinet or face occupation of Government House as from Monday.

Just In: CAF Releases Nominees For Awards Of The Year.

The Confederation of African Football has released the shortlist of players, coaches and teams for the CAF Awards 2019.

The nominees are:

Odion Ighalo, Victor Osimhen and Wilfred Ndidi are the Nigerians that are nominated for African Player of the Year.

Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Uchenna Kanu are nominated for the African Women’s Player of the year.

Senate Confirms NDDC Board Nominees

Senate yesterday confirmed the nomination of 15 members of the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), rejecting, however, one other nominee, Dr. Joy Nunieh.

The upper legislative chamber also confirmed the nominations of a new Chief Judge for the Federal High Court and President of the National Industrial Court (NIC).

Nunieh, a nominee from Rivers State, was declined confirmation by the Senate due to her failure to appear for screening before the Senate committee on Niger Delta, which screened the nominees last week.

Yobe Assembly To Screen 20 Commissioner Nominees

The Yobe House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed receipt of 20 nominees submitted by Gov. Mai Mala Buni for screening and confirmation as commissioners and members of the state executive council.

The Assembly, which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, said the list was contained in a letter signed by Baba Mallam Wali, the acting Secretary to the State Government, addressed to the Speaker.
