Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president to Goodluck Jonathan has given reasons he has been silent on the outcome of Kogi election.

Omokri on Monday announced that his silence was as a result of the attitude of Nigerians towards him and the likes of Femi Fani-Kayode and Dino Melaye.

The Federal Government has raised alarm that Noma disease is silently killing Nigerians, particularly in the northwestern states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa and other states outside the northwest, notably Akwa Ibom.

The Diabetes Association of Nigeria (DAN) has said about 10 million people were living with the disease in the country.

National President of the association, Dr. Alkali Mohammed, who is also the Chief Medical Director, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, stated this at a town hall meeting organised by the Katsina State chapter of the diabetes association.

Dr. Ibrahim Wakawa, Chief Medical Director (CMD), Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Maiduguri, raised the alarm at the unveiling of the Borno State Government Mental Health Strategic Implementation Plan in Maiduguri, yesterday.

Represented by Dr. Ibrahim Mshelia, a Mental Health Consultant at the hospital, Wakawa attributed the country’s high burden of mental disorders to insurgency, lack of awareness and health facilities to handle such cases.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), says the renewal of the National Identity Card will cost five thousand naira (₦5,000) payable through remita.
