In quick succession, Algerians and Sudanese people crippled economic activities of their respective countries, occupied the streets and ousted the dictators that had held their countries down for decades.

Mr Peter Obi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Presidential Candidate in the last general elections, has urged Nigerians to keep hope alive as the party will reclaim its mandate through the tribunal.

994 Nigerians deported from Ghana in 18 months

The Federal Government said 994 Nigerians have been deported from Ghana through the land borders in the last 18 months.

The chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, explained that 508 Nigerians were deported within the last six months, while 486 were repatriated in 2018.

She disclosed this in Abuja yesterday while meeting a Nigerian professor, Augustine Nwagbara, who was sacked by the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, for incitement.

Active subscribers increase by 43,807 in March - NCC

Over 100 million Nigerians now using the Internet – NCC

Internet users in Nigeria increased marginally to  119,506,430 million in April  2019, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said.

The NCC made this known on Monday in its Monthly Internet Subscribers Data for April posted on its website.

The data showed that overall Internet users increased to 119,506,430   in April from the 115,938,225 recorded in March , showing an increase of  3,568,205 new subscribers.

According to the data, Airtel, MTN and  Globacom  gained more internet subscribers during the month under review, while 9mobile  was  the big loser.

Some concerned Nigerians have filed a suit against the payment of over N4.68 billion as ‘welcome package’ to the incoming members of the ninth National Assembly.In the suit filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos at the weekend, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), BudgIT and Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE), are asking the court to restrain, prevent and stop the National Assembly Service Commission from paying individually and/or collectively, the ‘welcome package’.The defendants are the senate president, speaker of the House of Representatives, National Assembly Service Commission and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Over 1.1 billion adult smoke tobacco worldwide and at least 367 million persons use smokeless tobacco products. Of this number, eight million die annually through the effect of tobacco of which over six million are by direct use and about 890,000 by exposure to second-hand smoke.

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Ferdinand, has advised Nigerians to always study and obey the word of God in order to have innermost peace to prevent them from opting for suicide in difficult moments.

Akwa Ibom: Cameroonian Gendarmes kill scores of Nigerians

Scores of Nigerians were feared killed and others missing following an alleged attacks by Cameroonian gendarmes on Abana, a fishing community on the fringes the Bakassi Peninsula.
