For the average Nigerian youth today, the working code is to get rich by any means or die trying. For them, the route does not matter as the most important factor is the destination. The end justifies the means they say! In a poorly planned society where materialism and unequal distribution of wealth and resources have become the order of the day, it is only natural that crime rates and social vices will be almost unbeatable.

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has warned Nigerian youths to resist the temptation of using the current situation in the country to seek an undemocratic change in leadership.

The Governor warned that those interested in the presidency must wait till 2023 and go through democratic processes.

Bello said this in his address to the protesting Nigerian youths on Monday, being his fifth address to the youths since the #EndSARS protests began.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday reaffirmed that his administration recognizes the democratic rights of the Nigerian youths to peaceful protests.

Buhari who urged the youths to beware of anarchists who may hijack their gatherings for selfish motives stated this when he received the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, at the State House, Abuja, on Monday.

Briefing the State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, the minister said Buhari has advised the youths to always be on alert so that miscreants would not take advantage of their genuine intention.

Nigerian youths have been advised to join hands with the government to acquire necessary digital skills for self-reliance, post-COVID-19 era.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has pointed out that there are not enough government jobs for Nigerian youths and graduates.
