Embattled President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has finally revealed that he will not be appealing against the recent judgement which had been made by the Federal High Court, Damaturu, which had consequently disqualified him from the Yobe North Senate Seat of the National Assembly in the 2023 poll.

In a minor rejig of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Philip Tenimu Aduda (FCT) one of the senators who had been nominated for the position has been finally named as the new Minority Leader of the Senate.

The Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan had made the announcement in a letter he read during the plenary on Tuesday.

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday passed the Sexual Harassment Bill which seeks to redress sexual harassment of students in tertiary educational institutions.

The bill is titled: ‘A Bill for an Act to prevent, prohibit and redress sexual harassment of students in tertiary educational institutions and for matters concerned therewith, 2019”.
