NMA Asks FG To Declare State Of Emergency In Health Sector

A  recent call for the Federal Government of Nigeria to as a matter of urgency declare a full state of emergency in the health sector for the sake of  all the Nigerian citizens has been openly made by the Taraba State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

Dr Bako Ali who is the state chairman had also made the call on Monday, in Jalingo, the state capital which had occurred during an interactive session with some of the media practitioners in preparation for 2022 Physician Week.

Motivate Doctors To Slow Down Brain Drain – NMA Urges FG

The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has called on the Federal Government to show more concern for young doctors in Nigeria and do all within its power to re-motivate them in order to slow down brain drain syndrome that has gripped the profession in the country.

The State NMA chairman, Dr Omakoji Simeon Oyeguh, disclosed this on Wednesday in Lokoja in his address to mark this year’s physicians’ week.

Oyeguh explained that the motivation of doctors by the Federal Government, particularly the Resident Doctors will serve the nation better.

Omakoji Oyiguh Emerges Chairman Of Kogi NMA

Dr Omakoji Oyiguh of the Department of Family Medicine, Kogi State Specialist Hospital, on Sunday emerged as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kogi chapter.

In a keenly contested election online during the NMA’s virtual AGM/2020, Oyiguh polled a total of 161 (59 percent) of the votes cast, to defeat his closest rival, Dr Ashraff Abdulhakeem, who polled 112 votes representing 41 percent of the total votes cast.
