Nigeria’s Aviation Regulator Warns Airlines Over Delays

LAGOS — Nigeria’s aviation watchdog has warned airlines against routine delays and cancellations that have become a flashpoint for passenger frustration, vowing to impose sanctions and publicly name carriers that flout regulations.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said Monday that it would no longer tolerate what it called “deliberate negligence” by operators, including a pattern of airline staff abandoning stranded travelers at airports.

Unsafe Operations: NCAA Slams Suspension On DANA Airlines

Woes are not yet over for the DANA airlines company as the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced the immediate suspension of Dana Airlines’ air transport licence (ATL) and their air operator certificate (AOC) indefinitely over unsafe flying practices.

The NCAA had made this announcement in a statement which had been signed by Musa Nuhu, its Director-General.
