Fresh Strike Looms As Doctors Issue 2 Weeks Ultimatum

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York has it that the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has served a two-week ultimatum to both the Federal and State Governments to press home members’ lingering demands warning of impending industrial action.

The President of the association, Dr Godiya Ishaya issued this ultimatum during a news conference organised at the end of the Extraordinary National Executive Council (E-NEC) Meeting yesterday in Ilorin.

New Hazard Allowance Being Withheld By Finance Ministry -NARD

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has lampooned the Ministry of Finance for the non-payment of the increased hazard allowance which was approved by the Federal Government last year.Β 

The President of NARD, Dr Dare Ishaya, who spoke with our correspondent, said the money for the hazard allowance was budgeted, but the Federal Ministry of Finance had yet to release it.
