African richest and Chairman of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has said Northern Nigeria will continue to remain poor except states governments move to close the development gap between the north and the south.

ExxonMobil considers sale of oil stakes in Nigeria

Exxon Mobil may sell a suite of oil and gas fields it holds in Nigeria, and has commenced talks on the sales as it focuses on new developments in United States’. shale and Guyana, industry and banking sources told Reuters.

The potential disposals, THISDAY learnt yesterday are expected to include stakes in onshore and offshore fields and could raise up to $3 billion.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has declared Nigeria can only eradicate malaria completely in the future but not right now.

He said although Nigeria possesses the bio and nuclear technology that can control and eradicate malaria from its boarders, it can only be sustainable when it is eradicated in the continent as a whole.

Team Nigeria returns from Special Olympics with 63 medals

Special Olympics Nigeria (SON) athletes returned victorious from the 2019 World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi with 63 medals.

At a welcome reception held in their honour on Tuesday in Lagoa, the athletes and officials were celebrated for being resilient, tenacious and exhibiting good sportsmanship.

At the World Summer Games, athletes from over 190 countries including Nigeria participated in Athletics, Badminton, Unified Basketball, Cycling, Unified Football, Swimming, Table Tennis and Unified Volleyball.

Violence and intimidation marr re-run elections in Nigeria

Violence and voter intimidation once again marred polls in Nigeria Saturday, as voters tried to take part in re-run governorship and state elections already postponed once because of unrest.

CBN vows to make Nigeria world’s third palm oil producer

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has vowed to help push Nigeria to the world’s third largest producer of palm oil.

The Federal Government on Wednesday announced a ban on all Boeing 737 Max airplanes from flying in Nigeria’s airspace until further notice.
