Abuja Terror Alert: Why We Raided Trademore Estate – DSS

The Nigerian secret police otherwise known as the Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the raid on Trademore Estate in Abuja as tension in the capital city brews. 

Dr. Peter Afunanya who is the spokesman for the DSS, who confirmed the raid, noted that there was no joint operation with foreign military.

Against the backdrop of the recent terror alerts issued about Nigeria, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Friday maintained that there is no security threat in Abuja, the nation’s capital saying there was no cause for alarm.

The government of the United Kingdom (UK), has updated its terrorism alert to citizens in Nigeria warning of potential attacks by terrorists. 

The UK cautioned of an increased threat of terrorist attacks in the federal capital territory (FCT).
