It Is Time To Scrap The Crap Called NYSC

It Is Time To Scrap The Crap Called NYSC

If there is anything Nigerians must learn, it is to acknowledge their failures especially when the signs become too obvious. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which has failed to live up to the expectations of the founders has become an abysmal failure in recent years and this is something Nigerians must understand.

Founded in 1973 through a decree by Nigeria’s former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, the initial objective of the NYSC scheme was to rebuild, reconstruct and reconcile a country battered by the civil war or more appropriately the Nigerian genocidal attacks on Biafrans. The idea was to …

There Is No Unifier In Atiku, Nigerians Must Be Alert

There Is No Unifier In Atiku, Nigerians Must Be Alert

Abraham Lincoln once said; ‘You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time’. There is no advice more befitting for the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar who have relied on the short-term memory and lack of attention to details of Nigerians to sell them fallacies.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is Nigeria’s former Vice President now prefers to be called ‘The Unifier’ who is ‘Pan Nigerian’, who has ‘Built bridges’, and who believes in ‘One Nigeria’. …

2023: Nigerian Gang Of Looters Recycling Themselves

2023: Nigerian Gang Of Looters Recycling Themselves

Over the years, politics in Nigeria has become an old-school game – a game that allows politicians to recycle and align themselves at every turn in election cycles. These alignments have, sadly, remained based on self and group interests and not National interests, while Nigerians and Nigeria have remained the biggest losers in all of these shenanigans.

It is well-known that politics in Nigeria has been one bereft of ideology, system, and mindset. Nigerian politicians who have mastered the art of deceit and fraud have continuously played on the intelligence of gullible Nigerians without consequences. To them, it is just …

Restructuring: The Only 'Messiah' That Can Salvage Nigeria

Restructuring: The Only ‘Messiah’ That Can Salvage Nigeria

Any sincere observer who is passionate about Nigeria would have noticed that the richly endowed African country has over the past decades continuously deteriorated so much that it is now tipping off the edge of a precipice.

A good look at the past shows that at some point, Nigeria held so many promises and potential. Sadly, today, those potentials have turned to become problems, and Nigerians have constantly seen themselves chasing ‘Messiahs’ who seem to have a hint about what to do about their ugly situation.

Nigeria is presently being confronted by the worst period in her over six-decade-old history. …

Top 5 Wealthy Nigerians: Looters Or Legitimate Money Bags?

Top 5 Wealthy Nigerians: Looters Or Legitimate Money Bags?

Part 2:

Nigeria is a country where the more billionaires climb the wealth ladder, the more the number of poor people in the country geometrically increases. Each of the top five richest Nigerians have so far amassed more money than they will ever hope to spend in their entire lives and yet at least 5 million Nigerians will struggle to feed themselves every year, and most even die off due to malnutrition. The inequality is so extreme, and no one seems to be talking about it. This ugly trend has exacerbated poverty, fermented social unrest, and has become a ticking

Top 5 Wealthy Nigerians: Looters Or Legitimate Money Bags

Top 5 Wealthy Nigerians: Looters Or Legitimate Money Bags?

Nigeria is a country that presently warehouses one of the worst economic inequality numbers in the entire world. Despite being one of the most endowed countries in Africa both in terms of natural and human resources, Nigeria is still home to the poorest people on the continent. In the face of plenty lies abject poverty and the gap continues to widen.

The country’s richest man, Aliko Dangote would have to spend $1 million every day of his life for 42 years to completely exhaust his fortune. This is both worrying and sad, and would make one wonder whether there is …

2023 Presidential Election: APC Has Already Rigged It

2023 Presidential Election: APC Has Already Rigged It

Many Nigerians are presently holding onto hope like a tiny rope that keeps them from falling over the edge and a dose of illusion that seems to strengthen them. As valid as their permutations with regard to the 2023 election sound, most people do not appear to understand the ruthlessness of the monster they are up against.

There is a general feeling in the land that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of the All Progressives Party, APC has been a colossal failure and hence his party shouldn’t be rewarded at the polls. Yet, the candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu …

It's Time For Northern Nigeria To Understand 'Restructuring'

It’s Time For Northern Nigeria To Understand ‘Restructuring’

Over the past three decades, active calls to politically restructure Nigeria away from the structure bequeathed to her by the military has continued to grow and gain traction. The agitation has seen many geo-cultural groups, strong-willed individuals, geo-political associations, and even religious institutions join the call to craft a new roadmap as the current structure is assumed to be unsustainable.

Interestingly, southern Nigeria has seen more individuals and groups who believe in restructuring, and this has made their Northern counterparts who are on the other end of the dichotomy not only jittery, but full of suspicion; fearing the unknown.

Expect More Poverty In Africa With Buhari, Museveni Et Al

Expect More Poverty In Africa With Buhari, Museveni Et Al

Ever since Africa resorted to self-governance, astonishing acts of gross ineptitude and recklessness have become the hallmark of a substantial number of leaders who have managed to insert themselves into leadership roles.

Even though most African countries now practice democracy, at least on paper, the truth remains that most serving African leaders prefer to act like little gods, despising democracy and its principles. The tragedy of the African continent is that most of its leaders have nothing tangible to offer, yet, they always make big claims to clinch power without any serious will to better the lives of the people …

Nigeria Does Not Stand A Chance With The 1999 Constitution

Nigeria Does Not Stand A Chance With The 1999 Constitution

In sane countries, the process of writing and adopting constitutions is entirely people-centered. This is because not only will the citizens be guided by it, it will also determine how their lives are shaped.

In Nigeria, the story is different and, as expected, in the negative.

The country’s present constitution was written by ‘strong men’ who did nothing but dethrone civilian governments while declaring themselves lords over the hapless citizens through criminal decrees. How can a country ever witness any iota of progress under such wickedness enshrined into a constitution?

Those who framed the 1999 constitution never acted in the …

The Fulani Oligarchy's Stooge Called Godwin Emefiele

The Fulani Oligarchy’s Stooge Called Godwin Emefiele Of CBN

Mr. Godwin Emefiele is without any argument the worst central bank governor Nigeria has ever had. Over the last eight years, he has plunged the Naira into an unprecedented fall with his insanely clueless monetary policies which have left Africa’s most populous country on her knees, made her the poverty capital of the world, and deepened the misery of her citizens.

Nigerians won’t be having it this bad if they didn’t have a stooge as the head of their apex bank and the fact that he has escaped being fired despite his open sabotage against the Nigerian economy tells a …

Naira Redesign Buhari Throws Full Wight Behind CBN

Naira Redesign: Buhari Throws Full Wight Behind CBN

President Muhammadu Buhari has thrown his full weight behind the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to launch new designs of the naira denominations.

According to Buhari, Nigerians who are in possession of illicit money stashed in the soil would have problems with the new naira notes.

He, however, used the opportunity to assure that Nigerians would gain a lot when the redesigned new notes are launched.

Recall that the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele had announced the launch of the redesigned naira notes on Friday.
