COVID-19: We’ve Identified 10 Cases Of Delta Variant – NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that the Delta variant cases of COVID-19 have so far been identified in the country.

The Director-General of the organisation, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this disclosure during the health minister’s update on the COVID-19 pandemic in Abuja on Monday.

According to him, ‘So far we have identified 10 delta variant cases in the country. Actually what we do is collect samples from the travelers. Most of the cases are from travellers coming into Lagos and Abuja. Once they come in, we collect samples.

Only Lagos, Kano, FCT Still Conducting COVID-19 Tests – PTF

The Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chike Ihekweazu, has said that the COVID-19 transmission would rise with the reopening of schools and airports.

He, therefore, warned against complacency and the belief that infection rates were declining.

NCDC Declared Me Positive With No Result – Dokpesi

The Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi Junior, has lamented that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, never gave him the result showing he tested positive to COVID-19.

Junior, who is the son to DAAR Communications Plc founder, Raymond Dokpesi, expressed disappointment that he was not given any documentary evidence to show he was positive and when he tested negative to the virus.
