No fewer than eight villagers have been killed when bandits raided Kaure and Kwaki communities in the Shiroro Local Government of Niger State.
THISDAY gathered that the bandits carried out the massacre in the raid which took place Sunday morning
The invaders were said to have shot sporadically into the air making several of the villagers to run for safety.
It was in the bid to get to safety that some of those killed were hit by stray bullets, while others lost their lives in point blank shots.

The Niger State government has said that its 2020 budget is based on the payment of the ₦30,000 minimum wage.

Gunmen Kidnap 3 Construction Workers In Niger

Police in Niger say gunmen have kidnapped two expatriates and a Nigerian staff of Triacta Construction Company in Galadima Kogo village of Shiroro Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Adamu Usman, who disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Tuesday, said the gunmen who wore military uniform came to the village on over 20 motorcycles and attacked workers of the construction firm.

The government said it paid what it called severance allowance to the departing political heads.

The Federal government delegation is presently in a closed-door meeting with Customs officers on the Nigeria- Niger Republic border post at Magama Jinia, Katsina State.
