Nigeria To Host 2025 AFCON, Pinnick Reveals

The generalissimo of Nigerian football has revealed that the country is presently in a favourable position to host the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), if it scales all hurdles placed before it which are very surmountable.

Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick disclosed in Lagos also said that CAF is likely to withdraw the hosting right of the 2025 AFCON from Guinea, and ‘We are putting a bid together for a co-hosting of the tournament with the Benin Republic’.

Jose Peseiro Becomes Super Eagles’ New Head Coach

After days of jostling candidates for the position, Jose Peseiro has finally made the Nigerian head coach as he has been appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles, the country’s senior national men’s football team.

NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire made this disclosure in a statement said that Peseiro’s appointment is with immediate effect and subject to the signing of agreed terms between him and the Federation.

After several weeks of speculations, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), May have shelved the idea of playing Super Eagles first international match of the year at the refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo State.
