COVID 19: U.S. Supreme Court Voted Against New York Governor

The U.S. Supreme Court late on Wednesday voted in favour of Christian and Jewish houses of worship in their challenge of New York state coronavirus restrictions that limited gatherings in religious institutions.

The Supreme court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, voted 5-4 in favor of requests by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and two Orthodox Jewish congregations for an injunction to block the restrictions from being enforced.

102 Kids In New York Down With Kawasaki Disease

New York state is probing around 102 cases of children diagnosed with a rare inflammatory syndrome, known as Kawasaki disease and possibly related to COVID-19.

A 5-year-old in New York City, a 7-year-old in Westchester County and a teenager in Suffolk County have died of the syndrome, which displays various symptoms including persistent fever, severe abdominal pain, bloodshot eyes and skin rash.

Governor Andrew Cuomo disclosed this at his daily briefing on Wednesday.

Seventy-one percent of the cases have resulted in ICU admission, 19 percent have resulted in intubation and 43 percent remain hospitalized, according to Cuomo.
