The Unjust Incarceration Of Kanu And The Silence Of Ndigbo

The Unjust Incarceration Of Kanu And The Silence Of Ndigbo

With every passing day, it is becoming glaring that the refusal of Nigerian authorities to release Nnamdi Kanu is part of a well-orchestrated plot against Ndigbo for whom they have absolutely no respect, however, what is confusing here is why Ndigbo who are on the receiving end of these evil plots have opted for a grave silence in the face of injustice.

Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the secessionist, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was in 2021 kidnapped in Kenya. It happened in the most bizarre manner. It was said that on the 8th day of his abduction, …

Adichie, Abba And The Flagrant Abuse Of Igbo Culture

Adichie, Abba And The Flagrant Abuse Of Igbo Culture

One truth anyone with a working conscience will agree with is that over the years, the cultural values of Ndigbo have been badly eroded and are perhaps facing one of its most potent attacks in history. Now and again, there is a strong urge from powerful forces to adulterate, misinterpret and abuse the Igbo culture on the altar of political correctness, shrewdness, and the desire to prove needless points.

Many people who are supposedly expected to be fairly knowledgeable as far as Igbo culture and traditions are concerned have often hidden under the guise of civilisation and development to carry …

2023 Presidency: Ndigbo’s Best 11 For Aso Villa Race

On May 29, 2023, a new president will be sworn in to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. It will be Nigeria’s date with destiny; a date to correct a perceived long-standing injustice if a president of Igbo extraction is voted into power. The agitation is already in top gear as political leaders, prominent socio-economic groups from the south-east seem to be in unison that it is time for Ndigbo to have a taste of the presidency, and in an uncommon agreement, there seems a consensus that come May 29, 2023, power must rotate to the region to balance what they view …

Re: Ndigbo: Living In Self-Deceit

When I set out last week to tell truth to my people, Ndigbo, to wake up to the realities of the day and stop chasing utopian position in Nigeria, little did I expect the avalanche of positive reactions. In reality though, most of the credit goes to Prof. Obi Nwakanma, whose article formed the bulk of the article, which was more of a reproduction of his.

Well prof, one of the respondents, a fellow professor, Opara, who retired from Imo State University, called in and mooted the idea of setting up a platform in line with driving our people to …

“What I will say here today may come as a surprise to many of you. For those that I will rub the wrong way, I apologize in advance. However, “Ndigbo si na owu onye nke mmadu na ghu ya ahu na agbata ukwu”. If I fail to say the truth about the existential challenges that we face today in our country Nigeria, and how we believe we should face them, then I would not be true to myself and to you who sent me to represent you in the red chamber.

After an Emergency Consultative Caucus meeting in Enugu, a follow up call by Concerned Pan-Igbo organisations for the Igbo to get ready to defend themselves of the threat of impending attack by some jihadist organizations was issued.

The apex Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo had earlier last week issued such a call to Ndigbo.

Convened by Professor Uzodimma Nwala led Alaigbo Development Forum (ADF), the groups after exhaustive discussions came out with the following decisions:

“That there is obvious agenda of a bloody Islamization and jihad to conquer, occupy, take over and enslave Alaigbo and elsewhere in the Federal Republic of …
