Kuje Prison Siege: NCoS Reacts To Inmates Stolen Money

While reacting to the news ofΒ  the loss of some huge amount of money during the Kuje Prion siege, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has openly debunked some of the reports that fleeing inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, during the attack, stole money (local and foreign currencies) which were belonging to their fellow inmates.

Mr Abubakar Umar who is the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO) had made confirmations of this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

NCoS Laments On Prisons Filled Above Carrying Capacity

The Custodial Centres of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have revealed that they are currently in charge of over 16,000 inmates above their carrying capacity, a situation has been revealed to have fuelled some form ofΒ  aggression among the inmates and overstretched the prison system in the country.

At the moment, the Custodial Centres of the Nigerian Correctional Service have been revealed to have a combined carrying capacity of 58,278 inmates in the country.
