
How We Spent ₦24bn To Alleviate Poverty – Buhari’s Govt
The Nigerian government on has claimed that it spent at least ₦24 billion on different empowerment and poverty reduction schemes in the country on its National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP) in Sokoto State.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk, made this claim on Tuesday while speaking at the inauguration of disbursement of Cash Grant to Vulnerable Groups (GVG) in the state.
Farouk, who was represented by the National Coordinator of NSIP, Dr Umar Bindir, asserted that under President Muhammad Buhari administration effective schemes have been designed to lift vulnerable Nigerians.
